Gaudí reaches schools with the textbooks Gaudir Gaudí.

On the occasion of the 2002 Gaudí International Year, Barcelona Municipal Institute of Education (IMEB), Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) and the Education Department of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia have jointly released some didactical proposals on Gaudí's work for primary and secondary education centres in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia.

Under the title Gaudir Gaudí (Enjoying Gaudí), the proposals consist of a textbook for students and another for teachers with the objective of giving the students a basic architectonic understanding as well as promoting the respect, appreciation and preservation of the historical and artistic heritage.

The textbooks have been conceived by Marta Balada and Imma Panadés (textbook for primary school pupils and teachers), Camino García and Angel Blanco (textbook for secondary school students) and Joaquim Camp (textbook for secondary school teachers). They have been designed by Anna de Tord and co-ordinated by Esteve Barandica.

The presentation was attended by numerous teachers and took place in Barcelona's Mercat de les Flors on Monday 11th January. It was presided over by Emili Pons, General Director of Educational Centres from the Education Department of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and by Marina Subirats, Education Councillor in Barcelona Town Council. Also present were Esteve Barandica, Publishing Co-ordinator, and Daniel Giralt-Miracle, General Curator of the Gaudí International Year.
