Inauguration of the exhibition Gaudí. Exploring form

Mr. Joan Clos, Mayor of Barcelona, and Pedro Ramón y Cajal, secretary of the State Society for Foreign Cultural Activities (SEACEX), have inaugurated the exhibition Gaudí. Exploring form in the Saló del Tinell of the Barcelona City History Museum.

The aim of this exhibition is to analyse the treatment of space and set out the geometrical, structural and constructive solutions of Gaudí. Solutions which, despite their technical appearance, the exhibition seeks to bring closer to everybody in order to explain the most common forms of the Gaudinian repertoire in a practical and logical way.

The exhibition is organised in three sections ?Thought, Research and Work? through infographic images, large scale models, photographs and audio-visuals. Organised by the Institute of Culture of Barcelona Town Council and SEACEX, and produced by the City History Museum and the CTT of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Department of Structures in Architecture of the Higher Technical School of Architecture), the exhibition will be open from 20th March to 29th September 2002.
