Official presentation of Gaudí 2002. Miscellanea, commemorative book of the Gaudí Year

On Wednesday 17th April, at 7 pm, Saint Teresa of Avila School in Barcelona hosted the presentation of the book Gaudí 2002. Miscellanea, published on the occasion of the Gaudí International Year.

The event was presided over by Joan Clos, Mayor of Barcelona, and was attended by Jordi Vilajoana, Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, Ferran Mascarell, Councillor of Culture in Barcelona Town Council, Daniel Giralt-Miracle, General Curator of the Gaudí International Year, Jesús Badenes, General Director of the Planeta Group, Vicente López-Ibor, General Director of Institutional Relations of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, S.A., and some of the authors of the book. The speeches were delivered by the aforementioned personalities as well as by Carlos Flores, Jan Molema, Juan José Lahuerta and Claudi Alsina who, on behalf of the authors, evoked their personal vision of Gaudí.

The ceremony was completed by a visit to Saint Teresa of Avila School, a work by Gaudí.

Gaudí 2002. Miscellanea offers a multidisciplinary and updated vision of the work of the architect in a total of 20 articles written by several researchers from the world of art, architecture and history who analyse biographical, artistic and technical aspects of the Gaudinian universe.

This publication is an initiative promoted by Barcelona Town Council, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. It is jointly published by Barcelona Town Council and the publishing house Planeta with the collaboration of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, S.A.

Gaudí 2002. Miscellanea is available in Catalan, Spanish and English and includes more than 350 richly illustrated pages.
