León houses the exhibition "Gaudí. Exploring Form"

The first city to house the travelling exhibition "Gaudí. Exploring Form" is León in the venue of Los Botines House, a building constructed by Gaudí between 1891 and 1892 and currently owned by Caja España.

It was inaugurated by Tomás Villanueva, Vice-President of the Autonomous Government of Castille and León, and Mario Amilivia, Mayor of León. Organised by the SEACEX (State Society for Cultural Activities Abroad) and the Institute of Culture of Barcelona, the exhibition highlights the innovative aspects of Gaudí's architecture through scale models, photographs and multimedia images.

The most spectacular scale models have been placed outside the building because of their large size. These include the double twisted column of the Sagrada Família, the ruled surface undulating walls of the Provisory Schools of the Sagrada Família and the convex vaults in the porch of the Church of the Güell Colony.

The exhibition was in the Saló del Tinell of the Barcelona City History Museum until September and, after León, will travel to other cities around the world.
