Catalan music during Gaudi's years

28.5.2002

Orquestra de Cambra de l'Empordà
Garden of Palau Robert 8,30 pm

The main musicians of Modernism, some of whom were Gaudí’s contemporaries, wanted to move closer to Europe and reconcile popular music with the artistic currents of the center of the continent, which turned on the figure of Richard Wagner.
This concert, given by the Orquestra de Cambra de l’Empordà under the direction of Carles Coll, seeks to give an homage to these composers, among whom Felip Pedrell, Enric Morera, Jaume Pahissa, and Joan Lamote de Grignon, among others, stand out.
