Gaudí’s Impact

3.7.2002 - 30.9.2002
Centre d’Art Santa Mònica

The exhibit illustrates the influence of Gaudí’s aesthetic on numerous Catalan artists of the 20th century, such as Juli González, Dalí, Miró, Tàpies, Leandre Cristòfol, Clavé, Català Roca, Ràfols Casamada, Hernàndez Pijuan, and Frederic Amat, among others.
From the sense of Catalan identity to iron sculpture, from the relationship between art and nature to organic volume, from the use of collage to reflection on the concept of total art, all of these constants developed by Gaudí can be detected in one way or another in the works of various later artists, who are linked by the impact of the work of Gaudí on them.
