Gaudí: Enjoying Nature

12th to 20th October 2002

Edifici del Calisay
Riera Fita, 31

Opening times:
Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 2 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm
Weekdays from 6 pm to 9 pm

The title establishes the main topic of the exhibition, which explores the roots of the architecture undertaken by Gaudí in his works, mainly in the last and greatest of these, the Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Família. At the same time, it encourages visitors to observe nature analytically, as Gaudí did.

Photographs of the architect's work are displayed between others of the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdom by way of comparison, accompanied by objects, scale models and real plants.

One of the most notable sections is dedicated to the Gaudí GGV (generation, growth, vegetable) column featuring a series of photographs and models to illustrate the generation of helicoidal growth in nature and especially in vegetation.

With the support of Arenys de Mar Town Council, Sant Iscle de Vallalta Town Council and the Construction Board of the Temple of la Sagrada Família.
