Dalí and Gaudí.
The Revolution of the Sentiment of Originality

15.3.2002 - 31.12.2002
Casa-museu Castell Gala Dalí

Dalí’s interest in Gaudí began in 1933, when Dalí introduced the architect’s works to Surrealist circles through an article praising them, illustrated with photographs by Man Ray.
This exhibit seeks, thus, to show the connection between these two universal creators. To do so, oil paintings, drawings, photographs, and manuscripts have been gathered together, allowing one to see Gaudí’s genius interpreted by Dalí, a view that is at the same time different and illustrative.
Among the different pieces, the painter’s homage to the architect in Park Güell of Barcelona can be seen.
